This weekend, I’m leading a Sacred Soul Retreat in western Massachusetts. Pre-pandemic, I was leading a lot more in person gatherings and I missed them. It feels good to be back at the rustic retreat center, on the land I know so well, holding a circle where folks can show up and be released from their everyday responsibilities to submerge themselves in the natural world and in community.
When I draw small groups together like this, for significant chunks of time, something magical happens. I experience it when I attend other people’s retreats and i witness it in my own as well. When you remove the everyday routines like making dinner, walking the dog, taking care of spouses and kids, watching television, going shopping, etc., there is space for something to emerge from within. At first, it can be a little uncomfortable for people to be off of their screens because we’ve all become quite dependent on them. The retreat center where I hold these gatherings is one of the rare and few spots that’s completely off the grid so there’s no option for charging devices here!
A spaciousness begins to occur. Time stretches itself out and so much can reveal itself in a simple 48- 72 hour period. It resets us and calms our nervous systems. If we could all do this once a month, it would make a huge difference in how we’re able to show up in our everyday life.
I’m thinking about hosting one more retreat in this space, this season. It would be in conjunction with a fundraiser I’m creating for Community Village, the ceremonial circle I’m a part of and it would be late October. Stay tuned and I’ll let you know if I’m able to offer you a space in that one.
For now, I hope that you’re able to take some time away for yourself, even for a single hour this weekend. No screens, just time with yourself and your spirit.
Here’s a meditation to listen to during your downtime this weekend, its called Gratitude Pulse
With so much love,
One more thing.. If you like the guided meditations I lead, you’re going to love the 21 Day Sacred Soul Challenge. People loved it so much that I decided to add it to my slowly growing digital shop, to support you wherever you’re at on your sacred soul journey.
